1. Inspiration: Surrealist and modernist art.
Inspired by surrealist and modernist artists I took great notice of Rene Magritte and Stanley Spencer. From Magritte I liked the effect of his compositions. I enjoyed the way the familiar could be rearranged and manifested unusual. From Spencer, the raw power of his self portraits, the emotion etched and captured.
The first photographer that came to my attention was Henri Cartier Bresson. And I think from this discovery thats where photography made sense, enough for me to want to get involved. I liked the idea of capturing reality through the cameras ability to explore life.
This led me to find and explore people that gave me an idea of purpose in photography.
