Recipe for Jam: Music Project.

In October 2005 I auditioned to join a music project in Australia. Initially to play and write music, during the course of the programme I decided to film the sessions with a camera provided by the City of Albany council. The results are a 25 minute short film that was used for funding the 2006 programme. I was hired by the Vancouver Arts Centre in Albany  Western Australia to complete and cut the film. As a resident artist I worked for 2 months to gather interviews and build experience in film editing and shooting. The results are linked below. The film secured $10'000 of funding for the 2006 programme, and I was asked to return and make a documentary the following year.

What is the Recipe for Jam ?

In October 2005 and 2006 20 musicians gathered together for a one week residential music programme at the Vancouver Arts Centre in Albany, Western Australia. Mixing blues, hip hop, folk and roots they created the right recipe of music to capitvate one another and their local community.

Recipe for Jam takes a look at what can happen when musicians of different styles get together to create spontaneously.
